If you’re visiting this page then that’s what you are – a fellow entrepreneur, or someone who wants to become one.

Here is a snippet of my story – told a little differently from my About Me Page, I live in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, where I have been for the past 4 years, I grew up in Hobart Tasmania – a small island south of the mainland of Australia.

Don’t be concerned about my location if we are potential business partners and you live in a different country. The beauty of the Internet combined with an international call package means I can contact you wherever you are just as easily and cheaply as if you lived next door to me.

I spent 16 years of my life travelling around the country for work, sometimes flying in and out of my home base to site for extended periods – up to 6 weeks.  At other times I relocated to live onsite usually meaning a dreary mining town, which didn’t much matter as I was working 6 ½ days a week – 10 to 12 hour days.  This meant on occasion I would have to bundle up all my furniture and belongings and put them in storage – not a nice feeling – the longest time being 2 years without my stuff.

My most memorable experience was working on an 84 day shutdown – working 80 hours a week – my weight ballooned, I probably felt the most sick ever in my life without actually being sick.  I was rundown, burnt out but due to the contract nature of my work, always concerned where the next job was.

I believe this happens to most of us as we get older and we feel the pull of “there must be more to this” for me it was April 7 2008.  I woke up about 2 hours after going to sleep and had an overwhelming sense that I was living life as if my cup was half empty, I was really unhappy, treading water in what I felt was my lot in life – I could not see any way out of my rut, I felt stuck and I felt trapped. I didn’t like my job anymore and the only thing that would drive me to get out of bed in the morning was going to the gym – which I love. I thought “what will make me happy… really happy” and my intuition spoke up with “a trip to the United States”. Within 3 days I had booked my trip and things slowly started to change for me. I had a new found passion for life and ideas started to present themselves.

I went from believing that the only way for me to make a 6 figure income was to continue doing the work I was doing – which I no longer enjoyed – to seeing the possibility that there are other ways.  I guess I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit and it was busting to show itself!  I started to believe in working “smarter” not “harder” and during my time in the United States I was presented with the idea of a home based business.

Nowadays I work from home, I get to set my own hours and I honestly love what I do.

So network marketing, with its promises of an ongoing residual income, seemed like an attractive proposition to provide me with the income I aspired to. As a successful leader in my industry, I figured it would be a piece of cake to transition to another business – I pick things up quickly and can run forecasting on $b construction projects surely I would easily master this new world and soon be laughing all the way to the bank.

Well, it didn’t quite work out like that. If you’ve been in network marketing or MLM yourself, you’ll know it’s a lot, lot harder than they tell you and I was about to become yet another statistic — one of the 97% of home business owners who spend more than they make.

•      ?And training of your new members is done for you (this was huge).

This business promised to show us the solution to the minefield that is MLM in today’s Internet age.

Although excited by the prospect of it, I initially dismissed the claims of $250k first-year earning potential as “marketing hype” but continued reading just the same. And then I came to this testimonial by the King of Network Marketing, Mike Dillard, whose marketing courses I had invested in:
