Here are my top 5 tips to take your online business to the next level…

1.    Focus

If you are anything like me you will be constantly inundated with messages in your email box about the next best thing.  Products are being pitched at us constantly and it can be extremely difficult to stay focussed.  So what’s the best plan of attack, my tip is to schedule your day.  Use your calendar to block out time in your day for certain tasks and stick to them.  If you have a timer set it for 50 minutes and then take a 10 minute break.  You have to treat this like a business for it to pay you like a business if you treat it like a hobby it will cost you like a hobby does.

2.    Learn How

Hook into training calls and webinars.  Learn from the experts – how they did it – what is working.   Follow the instructions and believe it that you have to put the effort in to learn how and generally it won’t happen overnight.  Particularly for those that are new to online business it really is a whole different world and I haven’t met anyone yet how hasn’t put in the hard yards, the endless hours of learning how to get to where they want to be – its all worth it.

3.    Seek Help

If you are in MLM or direct sales utilise your sponsor and ask for help.  Also mastermind with other people in the same business.  I find this a very powerful strategy.  Band together and work towards a common although individual goal.  Encourage and support each other through the good times and the challenging times.

4.    Market, Market, Market

There are a plethora of different marketing approaches these days and it comes down to answering this question… what do you like to do?  Are you a writer, maybe you are good in front the camera or are you analytical?  Choose 3 marketing approaches and stick to them for the first 2 months and then re-evaluate, maybe drop 1 or 2 marketing styles and introduce a new mode of marketing.  For instance as you start to see cashflow in your business you may venture into the world of pay per click marketing.  Ensure you market everyday; schedule the time to spend 2 to 3 hours on this essential task.

5.    Respect Obstacles

Obstacles will arise whether you like it or not so respect them for what they are.  Obstacles are often gentle nudges to re-direct you on a slightly or markedly different course.  Don’t throw the towel in or quit – that is the worst thing you can do.   Obstacles are general opportunities in disguise.

Wishing you every success in your business no matter where you are in the world or what you are doing, you are worth it.  I am in the business of helping people design their life just as they want it, helping them succeed and step into their potential, if I can help you – let me know.

Do you have a ritual in the morning to get your day started?  If so is it working for you?  A morning ritual consists of taking ideally an hour of your day preferably a half hour after rising to do some sort of exercise to clear the way for a creative day.  Walking or jogging is an excellent option as is hitting the gym for some cardio and / or weight lifting activity.  Cardio is a fantastic example of how expending energy creates energy and you will find that once the hard work is done you will feel fantastic.  If you are just starting out with cardio training – 20 minutes a day is a great place to start.   Intervals are also very effective for example if you are on the stationary bike – ride flat out for 15 seconds and continue for the next 45 seconds at a more leisurely pace and repeat.

Also known as the “hour of power” in some circles the ritual is a way to clear your mind and then prime your mind with nutritious thoughts.  If you spend the first five to ten minutes thinking about what you want out of your day, the next five to ten minutes on positive affirmations, a couple I like are “I am a brilliant and savvy businesswoman” and “what is mine comes to me in avalanches of abundance” so work with what makes you buzz.   The rest of the hour let your mind wander and create up a storm.  Think about what is important to you, how you can improve on what you are doing and question whether you are challenging yourself enough or are you living in an ordinary space.

You could alternate your morning rituals, between gym and walking and also including meditation in the equation.   By rotating different activities it will help to stave off the boredom factor – if that is something you struggle with.   The important factor is that you continue with this practice and don’t give up on it.   The results will amaze you as you become more creative, focussed and energised.  After completing an hour of power, follow it up with a nutritious breakfast and you will be in a position to power into your day – look out!

I am writing this as much for me and for you, I have been all over the place lately in my online business and have been out of focus and achieving mediocre results, that’s not good enough anymore.  I have re-evaluated my day and realised that I have become complacent about my morning ritual and therefore stagnant in my home business.  I commit to resolving this today!
