Facebook Instant Message Scam – Beware
Hi folks, its such truly awesome weather here in Queensland Australia at the moment and I started the day feeling very motivated, inspired if even a little tenacious. Had a fab workout and was having a successful morning getting momentum in some real estate transactions when I heard the familiar “ping” from my computer indicating I had an Instant Message on Facebook. There was a message from Ron a Precher saying “I need your help”… I asked “what can I do to help”… The reply came “I am stuck in London”… my reply “I can’t help I am in Australia”, “yes you can”, then “I have been robbed at gun point, I have no cash, no credit cards & no phone”, I sat & looked & became wary… next “I need a loan can you send it via Western Union”… I replied “no that is too odd, surely you can get help from family & friends” – and that my friends was it – nothing more – I quickly unfriended this person as advice from my fellow Facebook friends was that this persons account had probably been hacked. So watch out for the scammers – it stinks of the old Nigerian Email Scam of the early naughties.
